New title from shreeking violet press

shreeking violet press is honoured to present Hexe, a chapbook of new poems by Ottawa poet and book doctor Christine McNair.

Consisting of 24 interior pages measuring 8.5” x 5.5” with red vellum end sheets, each book was hand sewn with love and 3 mm black satin ribbon. Printed in Ottawa in an edition of 50 copies.

Poems range from trademark McNair incantatory “quick speak” stream of consciousness (“I light the candle it/burns my fingers I/light the candle the ash and the soot”) to nostalgic (“Polkaroo myself a Snuffleupagus”) and beyond to examine the various definitions of “hexe” throughout the years from the author’s unique perspective.

This is a book for the curious, the witchy, and misfits alike.
